Gratitude Beyond Words

In the wake of the recent earthquake in Guatemala, ProChapina has been reminded once again of the incredible power of community, compassion, and solidarity.

Thanks to the unwavering generosity of our dear friends of ProChapina, we were able to extend critical support to more than 25 families and 75 individuals who were directly affected. From immediate relief to ongoing assistance, your kindness has reached those who needed it most, offering hope and dignity in a moment of great uncertainty.

This achievement is not ours alone—it belongs to every single person who believed in our mission and stood beside us during this challenging time. Your trust and commitment transform lives, and together we have proven that even in the most difficult circumstances, humanity and empathy will always prevail.

A very special thank you goes to UWW and the Troy Family for their generous support and partnership in making this possible.

On behalf of every family we served, and from the heart of ProChapina, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your support not only brought relief in a time of crisis, but it also reinforced our belief in a brighter and stronger future for our communities.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for making hope possible.

Celebrating a Proud Partnership: ProChapina and Enactus National Champions

ENACTUS TEAM.png

We at Prochapina are overjoyed and honored to celebrate a powerful moment of success and collaboration!

Congratulations to the incredible Spanish majors Faith Jones, Ruth Hammer, and Jaelyn Krohn for their outstanding leadership in Enactus, which led their team at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater to win the 2025 Enactus USA National Championship.

Their winning project, developed in partnership with Prochapina, focused on empowering single, mostly indigenous women in Guatemala by helping them launch small businesses and learn essential entrepreneurial skills. This initiative is a shining example of what can be achieved when international collaboration meets community empowerment.

We also want to recognize and thank Dr. Jodie Parys, the dedicated UW-Whitewater Spanish faculty member who guided the students and played a vital role in developing the project.

And we are especially grateful to Mr. Chotón, whose leadership and support were essential throughout this process. His wisdom and dedication to the mission of Prochapina have helped make this success possible, and we are proud to work alongside him in our daily efforts to build a better future for Guatemalan communities.

As national champions, the UW-Whitewater Enactus team will go on to represent the United States at the Enactus World Cup this September in Thailand, competing against teams from over 30 countries around the world.

We at Prochapina are filled with pride and gratitude to be part of this inspiring achievement. It’s a beautiful reminder that together, across cultures and borders, we can create lasting impact.

Muchas felicidades to all involved—and thank you for making us part of this inspiring project.

With joy and pride,
The ProChapina Team
